Zakumi

Osim vuvuzela, nove (ovom prilikom) plasirane Adidasove fudbalske lopte, jedina stvar po kojoj ću zapravo pamtiti 2010 FIFA Svetsko prvenstvo jeste Zakumi - afrički leopard!
Školski primer dobro profilisane maskote, oblikovane bujne zelene kose, sportskog stava, blago bezobraznog/izazivačkog pogleda u teen duhu.

A evo i malo činjenica:

How Zakumi Got His Name
Zakumi’s name comes from ZA, which is the international code for South Africa, and ‘kumi’ which means ‘ten’ in various African languages.

Zakumi was designed as a character by Andries Odendaal of Cape Town. His outfit was put together by Cora Simpson, owner of Cora’s Costumes. His green and yellow colors reflect the colors of the national team, Bafana Bafana’s football kit. Zakumi’s green hair is said to be the perfect camouflage on the green football field.

Zakumi is Known as the Mascot with Attitude
Zakumi has developed as a character full of personality. FIFA have described him as lively, outgoing, adventurous and spontaneous. Apparently he loves to perform and follows his instinct and intuition, however he is prone to exaggeration. Zakumi loves football passionately and always has his ball with him on his many travels, using it to make new friends wherever he goes.

Zakumi’s official motto is “Zakumi’s game is fair play.”
